Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE) Input Assists

This event counts the number of Streaming SIMD Extensions or Streaming SIMD extensions 2 (SSE2) floating-point operations needing assistance to handle an exception condition. This metric is often used in a per-instruction ratio.

The VTune^TM Performance Analyzer counts increments if one of the following conditions are met while executing either Streaming SIMD extensions or Streaming SIMD extensions 2:

1. The invalid, divide by zero or denormal flags, are not already set.

2. The hardware can not handle the input data (mainly because denormaled operands).
