Processor event topicAll WCB Evictions

Thread Specificity: TI

This event counts every instance in which the contents of any write combining buffer are evicted, that is, written out to the memory hierarchy. This includes full cache line evictions, and instances where only parts of a cache line are written out to memory, for example, writing to address ranges configured for write combining memory.

In general it is desirable to have full cache line evictions, as partial cache line evictions are less efficient.

Compare this event count to the count of WCB Full Evictions to determine if the processor has been doing a lot of partial WCB evictions.
