Processor event topicStalled Cycles of Store Buffer Resources (Non-Standard)

This event counts the number of cycles stalled on store buffers. Stalls on store buffers can occur when no write combining buffer (WCB) is available for the store buffer to write data to, indicating that a full cache line needs to be evicted from one of the WCBs.

See Write Combining Buffer (WCB) Full Evictions for more advice.

Store buffers are a partitioned resource on a processor with Hyper-Threading Technology. Each logical processor has half of the number of store buffers. This event count may increases on a processor with Hyper-Threading Technology if both threads are executing the write instructions at the same time.
